The IES has published a journal investigating the environmental legislation emanating from the EU. It explores key questions over shale gas, the proposed Soil Framework Directive, implementation of EU law, and political and business opinion about the EU in the UK. The publication was produced with the help of ENEP and can be downloaded HERE.

ENEP members were invited to a presentation of the South Sweden Sustainable Business Hub where some excellent contacts were made with their representatives at Green Week 2013. Sustainable Business Hub is a non-profit organisation that helps network for SMEs in the Malmo area with a high environmental profile.

The biggest annual conference on European environmental policy, Green Week, will taking place from 4th – 7th June at the Egg Conference Centre, Brussels. To mark the European Year of Air and the Review of the Thematic Strategy on Air, the theme for this year will be Air Quality. After running successful stands in 2011 and 2012, ENEP is pleased to announce that we have submitted a joint application with the European Federation of Clean Air and Environmental Protection Associations (EFCA) for a stand at the Green Week 2013 exhibition.

This May, REAL CORP will be exploring the relationship between time and space and how the planning practice and theory relates itself to this complex synergy. Discussions will be held on theories and methods as well as hands-on experience on how planning deals with space in time in order to plan both our cities and regions. We will be exploring questions such as:

We are pleased to announce that our application for a joint Green Week 2013 stand from 4th to 7th June between ENEP and European Federation of Clean Air and Environmental Protection Associations has been successful! We have secured stand number 5 in the exhibition hall and members from both organisations will be welcome to join us in manning it across the entire four days of Green Week. Being represented at Green Week will allows us to meet new potential members, project partners and dissemination opportunities while promoting the role of ENEP and making contact with DG Environment.

On May 2nd the ‘Brussels Environment Interns’  network group invited current DG Environment Commissioner Janez Potočnik to talk about his vision for Europe in 2030.
