Public consultation survey on INTERREG

INTERREG EUROPE, the interregional cooperation programme 2014-2020 intended to assist European regions in designing and implementing regional policies through best practices and knowledge exchange, is being further developed through the input of Partner State representatives and stakeholders. Focus areas of the programme are the EU Structural and Investment Funds programmes for Growth and Jobs and programmes under the European Territorial Cooperation (ETC) goal. It is directed at the European Union, Switzerland and Norway with a budget of €359 million co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).

The programme will provide funding and assistance within the scope of four thematic objectives:
• Strengthening research, technological development and innovation
• Enhancing the competitiveness of SMEs
• Supporting the shift towards a low-carbon economy in all sectors
• Protecting the environment and promoting resource efficiency

With the help of Partner State representatives, a draft Cooperation Programme detailing the thematic objectives above has been produced and now INTERREG EUROPE welcomes the input of local, regional and national authorities, civil society representatives as well as economic and social partners: All European stakeholders wishing to help improve the shape and implementation of the future programme now have the opportunity to participate in the survey, which is open until 21 March 2014.
