Commissioner Potocnik introduces Green Week 2013:

After a thought provoking video on air quality from the European Environment Agency, Green Week 2013, was officially launched by Commissioner Potočnik with the objective of covering nearly 90 session topics relating to air quality. Speaking off the record, the Commissioner underlined the urgent need for resource efficiency and sustainable consumption and the promotion of zero impact economies. Human behaviour is one of the key drivers accelerating the deterioration of European air quality. READ MORE, VIDEO HIGHLIGHTS  A number of the most interesting presentations from an ENEP perspective were on Air quality and eco-systems., the Future EU research agenda and air , large combustion plants and future emission legislation, the climate impact of shale gas production in Europe , Industrial Emissions Directive and the review of the large combustion plants BREF & the pros and cons of the IPPC directive versus the IED . Finally, ENEP would like to thank all of those members who gave up their time to work on the stand (and Jason’s time to prepare the graphics) and help make the week such a high profile opportunity once again.  Thanks in particular go to Joop Van Ham and his willing team of EFCA volunteers for helping to make the week a great success.
